GunnersGaming by Betsson, Arsenal’s Official Betting Partner, give us the rundown on some of the markets on offer ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Liverpool...
Saturday brings together two teams flying high following last weekend’s results. Arsenal enjoyed a spectacular comeback to win the North London derby, while Liverpool won their first silverware for six years in the Carling Cup. With both teams firmly involved in the battle to finish in the top four, the game promises to be a closely-fought affair.
Arsène Wenger's side have not lost at Anfield in the Premier League since March 2007 and are well priced at 29/10 to win tomorrow. Liverpool are unbeaten on home soil this season but have drawn eight of their 12 league fixtures up to this point. A 1-1 draw at 21/5 or a scoring draw at 10/3 both look realistic outcomes.
In their last 20 away games, Arsenal have averaged two goals a game compared to Liverpool’s 1.6 at home over the same period. The Gunners are an appealing 9/4 to maintain that average and score more than 1.5 goals in the game. If you fancy going with the averages, Arsenal to win 2-1 offers an attractive return at 10/1.
Robin van Persie has scored almost four times as many Premier League goals than any Liverpool player and is 22/5 to open the scoring again. Interestingly, however, in the last 20 away games Van Persie has only opened the scoring on two occasions (Swansea and Aston Villa). That is the same number as Theo Walcott (Tottenham and Newcastle), who at 21/2 is far more attractively priced than his captain.
