Arsenal Football Club will today, Monday 21st November 2011, launch a new stadium tour which enables supporters to take a self-guided tour behind the scenes at the state-of-the-art Emirates Stadium. The UK’s first self-guided football stadium tour will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
Narrated by Club legend Bob Wilson, the tour takes in all of the must-see areas of the ground including the home and away players’ changing rooms, the exclusive Diamond Club and the home team dug-out.
All visitors are given an audio-visual handset on arrival which is packed with additional information and content. It features exclusive interviews with manager Arsène Wenger and players including captain Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere who describe their personal match-day experience at the stadium from the moment they step off the bus at the players’ entrance.
The new-look tour is expected to encourage thousands more visitors and tourists to include a trip to Emirates Stadium as part of their London stay. Arsenal legend and tour narrator Bob Wilson said: “As someone who has experienced both sides of the emotional rollercoaster as a player and fan, the experience of a matchday is truly unique. The new audio stadium tour gives visitors the opportunity to retrace the steps that the players take throughout the ground on a matchday, along with the manager Arsène Wenger and his backroom staff. It gives a unique insight into what everyone experiences during the highs and occasional lows of each home game and is sure to be popular with Arsenal and football fans as a whole.”
Pre-book online or simply pay on arrival at the new Stadium Tour Entrance to the left of The Armoury Store, nearest tube stations are Arsenal and Holloway Road on the Piccadilly Line. Tours run from 10am until 5pm, seven days a week (except matchdays).
Self-guided tour passes are priced £9 for under-16s and £17.50 adults including access to the Arsenal Museum. Legend Tours guided by former Arsenal stars including Charlie George, Perry Groves and Lee Dixon are priced £18 for under-16s and £35 adults.
