Kieran Gibbs believes Arsenal’s strong run of form is the result of a greater understanding between the players.
You can see that in the last run of games that the players have a better understanding of each other
Gibbs is ready for the challenge posed by the Spain international, and feels the Gunners’ new additions have really started to gel in recent months.
“I know that playing for your place is part of the game and it's part of life,” he said. “I have to deal with that. As long as I keep giving everything for the team and everybody does that, it's only good for the Club.
“If you look at the team, there's a lot of new players and now it's coming to the end of the season, you're starting to see the players know each other a lot more,” he said.
“You can see that in the last run of games that the players have a better understanding of each other. I feel like we look more like a team in the last few games that we have played.”
Arsenal are two points clear of Chelsea and Tottenham - although their rivals have games in hand - and Gibbs feels the race for a top-four place could go to the wire.
“We've still got a long way to go and there are still a lot of things that can happen,” he said. “We need to remain focused on the next game and take it from there.”Copyright 2014 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
