Tickets for the Kitchee Cup, taking place on July 29 as part of the Arsenal Asia Tour 2012, have gone on sale in Hong Kong.
Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis joined members of the Hong Kong FA, tour partner Emirates and Kitchee representatives to look ahead to the fixture, which has been selected as one of the celebration events for the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region which marked the end of the locality being part of the British colony.
The occasion promises to be one of the most popular football events Hong Kong has seen in recent years, with Arsenal's squad competing in the Hong Kong Stadium, kick-off 5pm local time. Match profits will be donated to the Kitchee Foundation for the construction of its proposed Kitchee Foundation Training Centre in Shek Mun, to help further the development of football in the region.
At the launch, Ivan Gazidis said: "I congratulate Kitchee for winning the treble in Hong Kong recently. We are hugely looking forward to the game. I have been told that Kitchee play a technical style of football not unlike Arsenal so it will be a good test.
"Hong Kong is the last match in our 2012 Asia Tour, presented by Emirates, and is an important part of our build up to the forthcoming Premier League season. I am sure that the fans of both Arsenal and Kitchee will enjoy the great atmosphere we expect in the match."
Edwin Lau, Emirates' Vice President Hong Kong, added: "When Emirates began its partnership with Arsenal back in 2004 it was always our aim to be able to bring the football club closer to its millions of loyal fans across the six continents that we fly to. We are delighted that as the Presenting Partner of the Arsenal 2012 Tour, it will be possible for fans of Arsenal to see their heroes in action right here in Hong Kong."
From 10am on June 12, tickets will be available at www.arsenal.cityline.com or by calling the hotline at 00 852 2111 5333.
