William Gallas has thanked the Arsenal fans after scooping the O2 Player of the Month award for November.

We broke the news to the captain after his appearance at the Club's flagship store, The Armoury, on Thursday afternoon. It was Gallas' first Player of the Month award since he moved to Emirates Stadium and he won it by a landslide - no wonder the Frenchman was so pleased.

"I am very, very happy," beamed Gallas. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am very proud. It is always a pleasure to hear stuff like that.

"What I have tried to do this season is give my best personally and to hopefully bring a trophy to the Club. I think it is very important for a Club like Arsenal and for the players to win something this year."

The Frenchman heaped praise on the 60,000 fans who pack into Emirates Stadium, as well as those who travel the length and breadth of the country, in support of the team.

"Without the fans you can't do anything," said Gallas. "The fans, they are the 12th man. When we don't play well or when we are tired we need their support and since the start they have been behind us all the time.

"They have to continue this because the season is long. Maybe we will be tired but if they are behind us then we will give everything. I hope at the end everyone will be happy."
