William Gallas has been named in an Arsenal squad for the first time in almost three months.

The centre back has not featured since hurting his thigh in final moments of training on November 20, the eve of the home game with Hamburg.

But Arsène Wenger announced on Friday that the 29-year-old has been selected in his much-changed squad for the FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Blackburn at Emirates Stadium.

"It is good to have him back," said the manager at his pre-match press conference. "We are now in the part of the season when experience is needed. We are sometimes a bit young at the back so it is a big lift to have him in the squad again. We worried about him for a while with his setbacks so it is tremendous.

"I don't know yet if he will start. I have not had a much time to think about it since Bolton. I have put him in the squad because I will rest some players. I'll have to see whether I start him or not."

Wenger had promised to ring the changes and, as ever, he was as good as his word. He confirmed that Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Denilson will be in the squad for Blackburn

However Gilberto, Jens Lehmann, Abou Diaby and Julio Baptista are rested. Johan Djourou (knee) and Alex Hleb (cold) are out with minor problems.
