William Gallas... expected to be out for three weeks
Gallas joins Silvestre on the injured list
By Richard Clarke
It is ‘two in, two out’ for Arsène Wenger this weekend against Bolton.
Mikael Silvestre limped off with a thigh injury during the first half of the FA Cup Third Round tie with Plymouth last Saturday. Since then William Gallas has picked up a hamstring problem. Both defenders will be out for three weeks.
On the plus side, Denilson (back) and Kolo Toure (groin) will return after missing the 3-1 win against the Devon side through injury.
“Kolo and Denilson will be back available,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online. “However unfortunately we have lost William Gallas with a hamstring problem.
“We lost Silvestre too with a thigh problem last week as well. So we have lost two players from the game on Saturday but we have gained two back.
“I think Gallas and Silvestre will be out for three weeks.”
Arsenal TV Online subscribers can see the full video interview with Wenger on Friday morning. In it, the manager talks about: the latest on those Andre Arshavin rumours, continuing speculation about Kolo Toure’s future, whether he is in the market for a keeper, building confidence slowly once more, balancing the League and the FA Cup, the continuing Allardyce influence on Bolton, the signing of Johan Elmander, the Chelsea v Man United game and the FA Cup tie with Cardiff.
