Making his Arsenal debut has helped William Gallas 'move on'.

The defender left Stamford Bridge for Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day in a swap deal with Ashley Cole. He played his first game for his new club as a left back in the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough on Saturday and felt at home immediately

"It was good to play with Arsenal," said Gallas. "And I thought we were unlucky not to win.

"The players were all very kind to me when I arrived and the atmosphere in the club is very good. Everybody laughs. It was easy to adapt to Arsenal.

"For me, the past is the past," he went on. "I am just focused on my future, and my future is with Arsenal. That is it. Anybody can say what they want, I do not mind.

"I wanted to come here. Now I have to play, to enjoy it and do my best to try to win something."
