William Gallas is now available for selection on Sunday after shaking off a hamstring injury.
Initially it seemed as if the FA Cup Fourth-Round clash with Cardiff would come too soon for the defender but, at Friday's pre-match press conference, the manager revealed that he is ready to play.
One member of Wenger's defensive unit certainly missing is Gael Clichy who serves a one-match ban for picking up his fifth booking in last Saturday's win at Hull.
Clichy's absence could open the door for Kieran Gibbs to make his first Arsenal start outside the Carling Cup. The 19-year-old, who is usually ever-present for the reserves, was a notable omission from Neil Banfield's squad in midweek.
"Maybe Gibbs [will play at left back]," said the manager.
"Gallas will be available again and Clichy is suspended."
