The teenage pair both made their full European debuts on Wednesday night and, in the high-pressured environment of the Stadio Friuli, showed maturity beyond their tender years to help Arsenal into the Champions League Group Stage.
Frimpong harried, hustled and marshalled in front of the back four while Jenkinson nullified the threat of the dangerous Pablo Armero as well as bombing forward on the right.
After a frustrating defeat against Liverpool, the young midfielder, who has earned a call-up to the England Under-21 squad, was pleased to repay the faith shown by his manager.
"I'm just happy that me and Carl did him proud tonight," he said.
"Me and Carl started the game and the boss stuck with us. He could have dropped us because there were more experienced players on the bench but he showed that he has faith in us.
"We are all right behind the boss and he is keeping faith in us."
