NORWICH 1-4 ARSENAL
August 28, 2004
The last Arsenal team to visit Carrow Road might just have been the best in the Club's long history.
Arsène Wenger's 'Invincibles' arrived in East Anglia on August 28, 2004 just days after breaking Nottingham Forest's record of 42 league games without defeat.
Thirty-eight of those had come in that historic 2003/04 campaign and this trip to Norwich became unbeaten game No 44 of an eventual 49.
Arsenal won, and they won in style. Jose Antonio Reyes opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, Thierry Henry added a second in the 36nd minute and Robert Pires made it 3-0 before the break.
Norwich had been blown away but they rallied at the start of the second half and Darren Huckerby's penalty threw them a lifeline.
But the result never looked in doubt and Dennis Bergkamp rounded off the scoring in the final minute.
Arsenal's last few games against Norwich have finished 5-1, 4-1 and 4-1 - an aggregate score of 13-3. So history will be very much on their side when they travel east this weekend.
