Arsenal 1-1 Birmingham City
March 15, 1975
Since making their Premier League debut seven years ago, Birmingham City have managed just one win in 10 games against Arsenal. But the Gunners haven’t always been so dominant.
This week's FreezeFrame is taken from 1975; a season when Arsenal and the Blues finished level on 37 points in what was then Division One.
The image shows Birmingham's Kenny Burns firing home the visitors' goal in a 1-1 draw at Highbury. Peter Simpson can do nothing to stop Burns while Sammy Nelson - the No 3 - makes a desperate attempt to block the shot.
Arsenal's scorer on the day was Brian Kidd and, of course, Highbury provides a splendid backdrop to the image. You can see the old dug-outs at the bottom left-hand side of the picture.
