Former Arsenal midfielder Fabrice Muamba has announced his retirement from professional football.
Fabrice, who rose through the academy and played twice for the first team in 2005, was in a critical condition after collapsing during an FA Cup tie at Tottenham on Saturday, March 17.
The 24-year-old was discharged from hospital two weeks after the incident.
But after advice from his medical team and extensive discussions with cardiologists, Fabrice has decided to call time on a playing career that took in spells at Arsenal, Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers.
Everybody at Arsenal Football Club wishes Fabrice luck in his future endeavours.Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 15 Aug 2012
