Former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has joined Japanese side S-Pulse, subject to acquiring a work permit.
The 34-year-old, who enjoyed an illustrious 10-year stay in north London, spent time with Celtic at the back end of last season but has been a free agent since leaving Scotland in the summer.
Ljungberg remains one of the most loved players of the Arsène Wenger era having played 285 games after joining from hometown club BK Halmstad in 1998 and scoring on his debut against Manchester United.
He grabbed one of the Cup Final goals as Arsenal defeated Chelsea at the Millennium Stadium in 2002 and was part of the Double-winning side of 2002, earning the Barclaycard Player of the Season award that year.
