Arsenal's upcoming clash with AC Milan is arguably the tie of the Uefa Champions League so far and, somewhat surprisingly, will be the first time the clubs have met in a European knockout competition.
However, the sides did contest the European Super Cup in February 1995 - a two-legged affair between the previous year's champions in the European Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup.
Arsenal beat Parma 1-0 in the Cup Winners' Cup Final in May 1994 while Milan crushed Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League showpiece later that month.
The Gunners headed to Italy in good spirits after a stalemate at Highbury in the first-leg, but goals from Zvonomir Boban and Daniele Massaro settled matters in Milan's favour at the San Siro.
The London game was notable as it saw the return of Paul Merson after a drugs ban. The England international played the last 17 minutes and afterwards manager George Graham said: "He showed a lovely touch and used the ball well."
Of those involved over the course of the tie, just two remain at their clubs - Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta for the Italians.
