Tonight, the players of Arsenal set out on what we hope will be another road to success.
Not a great deal is known over here about our opponents this evening though Terry Neill and Don Howe flew to Turkey on the Saturday night after we had played Manchester United at Highbury to have a look at them, so that their strengths and weaknesses could be passed on to our players for use in the pre-match preparation.
Having seen them, Terry was confident, but cautious - you just have to be in football. Normally, we would prefer playing away first so that you know exactly what you have to do at home. All you know in the first game is that you have got to get as many as possible, but it is not quite the same as a positive target.
But playing away in Europe can have known hazards, so we should be flat out tonight to tie it up beyond any doubt.
Now Europe has a great number of top-class teams and competition gets tougher and tougher - this applies everywhere in football, but we still say what we were saying earlier on - that we believe we have a very good side, good in skills and in character, able to withstand the heaviest pressure.
Time alone will tell, but if a good start counts for a lot - and it surely does - then tonight is the opportunity to get off to a 'flyer'.
