Yesterday Arsenal confirmed that Alexander Hleb has signed for Barcelona after three years in North London.

The Belarusian signed for the Gunners from German side VfB Stuttgart in 2005 and swiftly became a regular in the team. In his time at Arsenal he made a total 129 appearances, scoring 11 goals. In 2006 he became the first player from his country to appear in a Uefa Champions League Final when the Arsenal played Barcelona.

Alex was also voted Belarusian footballer of the year in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006, as well as Belarusian Sportsman of the Year in 2002.
