Arsène Wenger retains a “little hope” that Cesc Fabregas will return for the crucial clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
The Spaniard injured his hamstring at Sunderland ten days ago and therefore misses Tuesday's trip to Partizan Belgrade. However the Arsenal captain has started running and, while the squad is in Serbia, will be continuing his rehabilitation work.
“Cesc for Partizan is impossible,” said Wenger before his squad flew out on Monday. “But he has started to run so we have to monitor his progress in the week and there is a little hope there he will be available [for Sunday].”Copyright 2017 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
