Cesc Fabregas... congratulated Lionel Messi
Fabregas congratulates history-maker Messi
Cesc Fabregas has offered his congratulations to Lionel Messi after the Argentinean star was named Fifa World Player of the Year.
The award completes a successful year for Messi, who picked up the prestigious Ballon D'Or for the European Player of the Year and has also won six honours with Barcelona.
"I'd like to congratulate my friend Lionel Messi," Fabregas told the Official Matchday Programme. "This time for being named Fifa World Player of the Year.
"I believe he's the only player in history to have won every trophy he's been involved in during a season - the two most important individual honours and six competitions out of six for Barcelona.
"He scored in four different Finals for them, most recently the World Club Championships winner against Estudiantes, so it's been a perfect year for him."
