Villarreal 2-0 Athletic Bilbao
Saturday, March 21.
Two second-half goals secured Villarreal all three points against struggling Bilbao on Saturday.
Despite bossing the first half from start to finish, the hosts couldn’t find the breakthrough. Finally in the 68th minute Diego Cazorla picked up Giuseppe Rossi’s low pass before blasting his strike into the bottom corner.
Things went from bad to worse for the visitors 10 minutes later when Markel Sauseta was shown his second yellow card. Substitute Matias Fernandez put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time with a neat finish from just inside the box.
