Sevilla 3-2 Barcelona
Saturday, May 13, 2006

Barcelona suffered only their second defeat in 20 games away to UEFA Cup winners Sevilla on Saturday.

With the Champions League final only four days away however Barcelona rested eight first-team players for their penultimate La Liga game of the season.

Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Giuly, Deco, Puyol, Edmilson, Marquez and van Bronckhorst were all left out of the side.

Middlesbrough's conquerors Sevilla raced into a two-goal lead through Daniel Alves and a Carrion Aitor Ocio penalty.

Barca hit back with two goals in a minute through Santiago Ezquerro and former Gunner Silvinho. But a 76th minute header from Sevilla's Kepa Blanco won the game for the Andalucians.
