Schalke 04

Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Schalke

Schalke secured an impressive result on Saturday, beating champions and arch rivals Dortmund away from home. Ibrahim Afellay gave the visitors the advantage after 14 minutes and Marco Hoger extended the lead three minutes after half time. Robert Lewandowski reduced the deficit after 55 minutes. The result ensured Schalke remain third in the Bundesliga.

Montpellier

Rennes 2-1 Montpellier
Saturday, October 20
Montpellier were defeated in Rennes on Saturday evening. Jean II Makoun gave the home side the lead, before Mevlut Erdinc doubled the home side’s advantage after 52 minutes. Younes Belhanda did pull one back from the penalty spot in the 69th minute, but Rennes held on to claim victory.

Olympiacos FC

Olympiacos 4-0 Xanthi
Saturday, October 20

Olympiacos’ 100 per cent start to the Super League season was maintained after they cruised to victory over Xanthi. Konstantinos Manolas gave the home side the lead in the 37th minute and Jose Holebas doubled the advantage just after the break. Rafik Djebbour put the gloss on the win with a nine-minute brace. The result means Olympiacos are now five points clear at the top of the table.
