Schalke 04

Schalke 3-0 Wolfsburg

Schalke got back to winning ways by easing to victory over Wolfsburg. Jefferson Farfan gave the home side the advantage after 33 minutes, before Ibrahim Affelay doubled the lead at the start of the second half. Roman Neustadter sealed the win just before the hour. The result moves Schalke back above Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table.

Montpellier

Montpellier 2-3 Evian
Saturday, October 6
Montpellier threw away a 2-1 lead as they lost at home to Evian. Saber Khelifa was the home side’s chief tormentor, scoring a hat-trick. He gave the visitors the lead, before strikes from Marco Estrada and Souleymane Camara gave Montpellier the advantage at half time. Khelifa equalised just after the hour, and struck again one minute from time to condemn Rene Girard’s team to defeat.

Olympiacos FC

Olympiacos 1-0 Asteras Tripolis
Sunday, October 7

Olympiacos kept their 100 per cent start to the Super League season intact with a 1-0 victory over Asteras Tripolis. Jose Holebas scored the winner two minutes before the break. Olympiacos are still three points clear at the top of the table.
