Sochaux 1-3 Montpellier

Montpellier grabbed their first three points of the Ligue 1 campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win over Sochaux on Saturday. Highly-rated midfielder Younes Belhanda scored early from the penalty spot before Emanuel Herrara hit a second 30 minutes from time. The hosts struck back five minutes later through Sloan Privat but Remy Cabella made sure of victory late on.

Schalke 04

Schalke 3-1 Augsburg

Schalke claimed their first victory of the season with a convincing 3-1 win over Augsburg at the Veltins-Arena on Saturday. The hosts took the lead through Kiriakos Papadopoulos midway through the first half before doubling their advantage via Jermaine Jones inside the first minute of the restart. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar added a third with 20 minutes remaining before Augsburg scored a late consolation.

Olympiacos FC

Olympiacos 4-0 Levadiakos
Sunday, September 2

Olympiacos continued their 100 per cent start to the new season with a dominant 4-0 victory over Levadiakos on Sunday. The hosts scored twice in each half, taking the lead through Dimitrios Siovas before adding a second courtesy of Rafik Djebbour. Giannis Maniatis made it three just after the hour mark, while the influential Djebbour completed the scoring 15 minutes from time.
