Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donestk continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 home victory against FC Illychivets Mariupol. Brazilian midfielder Willian Borges Da Silva scored the only goal of the game on hour mark. Former Arsenal striker Eduardo played 56 minutes before being substituted. The win takes Shakhtar five points clear of nearest rivals Dynamo Kyiv after eight games played.

Sporting Braga

Sporting Braga 1-0 Maritimo

Sporting Braga continued their unbeaten start to the Portuguese Liga with a 1-0 home win against Maritimo. Silvio’s strike on the stroke of half time was enough to give Braga the three points. After three games of the season, the side that finished second last season have two wins and a draw and trail FC Porto by two points. The two sides at the top of the table face each other in the fourth round of matches in two weeks’ time.


Partizan Belgrade

OFK Beograd 0-2 FK Partizan

Partizan Belgrade beat OFK Beograd 2-0 in their second Super Liga game of the season. First-half goals from Ivicia Illiev and Nemanja Tomic were enough to maintain their 100 per cent start. The victory takes the Serbian champions to fifth in the table, with a game in hand on their league rivals.
