Celtic 5-2 St Johnstone
Scottish Premier League
Saturday, August 22
Marc-Antoine Fortune opened his Celtic goalscoring account with a brace as the Glaswegians bounced back from last week’s defeat to the Gunners with a 5-2 home win over St Johnstone.
It was Fortune who netted first at Celtic Park, before Shaun Maloney bagged a header to give the hosts a two-goal lead.
St Johnstone pulled one back before the break, but Maloney added Celtic’s third eight minutes into the second half.
Fortune added his second just a minute later and Scott McDonald made it five with just over 15 minutes remaining to ensure a comfortable victory for Celtic, though St Johnstone did score a second with 14 minutes left on the clock.
