Aberdeen 1-3 Celtic
Scottish Premier League
Saturday, August 15
Celtic got off to the perfect start in the SPL with a comfortable victory in thier tricky opening rubber at Aberdeen. In his first domestic clash as Hoops boss, Tony Mowbray watched his side take the lead after 29 minutes through the highly-rated Aiden McGeady. The winger lashed home a second three minutes before the break before Scott McDonald all but sealed victory in the half’s final minute.
However, in contrast to Arsenal, Celtic failed to build on their 3-0 half-time advantage and Aberdeen grabbed a consolation through Sone Aluko just past the hour-mark.
