Edu is still completing his rehabilitation after a long-term injury and will not feature in the Emirates Cup this weekend. However, he is in London for the tournament and gave a press conference at Emirates Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Read on to find out what the former Arsenal midfielder said.

on the current Arsenal side...
"It is another generation. There have been a lot of changes and it is hard to compare with when I was here. The players were more experienced before, we had three or four of the best players in the world. But time goes. This is another generation with Cesc Fabregas and Gilberto, and I hope they continue winning and bring trophies to Arsenal."

on whether Henry's departure will affect Arsenal...
"Of course it will [affect them]. He is one of the best strikers in the world and for sure they will miss him. I hope they can find someone who reaches the same level as Henry. Because I am away I always try to follow Arsenal and I wish them luck."

on Highbury and Emirates Stadium...
"Highbury has a lot of history. It was a beautiful stadium as well and Arsenal had some big moments there. This stadium is more modern, it is another kind of stadium. As I said it's a new generation with new players, a new style and a new stadium."

on Valencia's prospects this season...
"We are looking forward to the league season. We have new signings and the team is strong. Of course Barcelona and Real Madrid are very strong but if we play with a strong mentality we can do something big this season."

on the importance of experience...
"Sometimes you need experience to help the younger guys but Gilberto takes that responsibility and I hope that continues."

on Valencia's transfer policy compared to their rivals...
"It is difficult to compare because when Barcelona buy someone like Thierry Henry or Real Madrid try to buy Robben, it makes them stronger. We are trying to be like them but we don't have the same money. But I think we have a good team. In our squad there are no weaknesses from the goalkeeper to the left winger. We have good players and we can do something important."

on his injury problems...
"I am recovering from my injuries. I just started training and I am looking forward to be back because I have had bad luck twice. I hope nothing happens anymore and I can enjoy a league season without injuries."
