Eboue - We're sorry it's been a bad week

By Chris Harris

Emmanuel Eboue has pledged to win on Saturday for the Arsenal fans.

The Ivory Coast star sat out last weekend's defeat to Chelsea but was in the thick of the action as a young Gunners side crashed out of the Carling Cup at Manchester City in midweek.

This has been a bad week for the players but Eboue appreciates that the fans have had a hard time too. He wants to put that right when Stoke visit Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

"This week was very, very difficult for us because we lost two games, one against Chelsea and then Manchester City," Eboue told Arsenal TV Online. "Now we try to forget those two games and try to win on Saturday against Stoke.

"Personally I just want to say sorry to the fans for both games. It wasn't easy for us but I promise we will give our best and show on Saturday that we can win because we know it will be good for the fans.

"They buy tickets to support us and then we don't win the games. We are sorry and we will try our best on Saturday."

Subscribers can now watch the full interview with Manu on Arsenal TV Online. He discussed:

  • two defeats in the past week
  • the 11-point gap to Chelsea
  • another physical test against Stoke
  • Arsenal's prospects of winning a trophy
  • helping the youngsters at Olympiacos
  • his message to the Arsenal fans
