Djourou completes loan move to Hamburg

Johan Djourou at Hannover 96

Johan Djourou has joined Bundesliga side Hamburg SV on loan for the 2013/14 season.

The Switzerland international, who was loan with Hannover 96 in Germany from January until the end of last season, has featured 144 times for Arsenal since making his first-team debut in a 2-1 League Cup victory against Manchester City in October 2004.

The 26-year-old showed his versatility in 2011/12 when he was moved from his favoured central defensive position to deputise at right back for long spells. In Djourou's two senior appearances last season, he captained Arsenal to Capital One Cup victories over Coventry City and Reading.

Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Johan the best of luck for next season with Hamburg.

This loan move is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
