Abou Diaby is back for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with AS Roma.
The Frenchman has been unavailable since sustaining a thigh injury against West Ham United in January but he will return for the visit of the Giallorossi.
Diaby’s return is a fillip for Arsène Wenger who is still without the services of six first-team players.
Captain Cesc Fabregas (knee), Theo Walcott (shoulder), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring tendon), Eduardo and Emmanuel Adebayor (both hamstring) are all unavailable.
Mikael Silvestre, who was expected to return for the Roma clash, has also suffered a setback.
“Abou Diaby is in the squad and is available,” Wenger said at Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“There is a long list [of players out] because we have Fabregas, Walcott, Rosicky, Eduardo and Adebayor is still out.
“Silvestre had a recurrence of his calf problem. We hoped to have him back but he’s out as well.”
