Craig Eastmond... made his Arsenal debut against Liverpool

Craig Eastmond signs new long-term contract

Young midfielder Craig Eastmond has today committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract extension with the Club.

19-year-old Craig was one of Arsenal's outstanding performers in the FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League last season, playing at right-back, earning himself professional terms in the summer.

However, this season Eastmond has shot to prominence in the first team, hugely impressing with performances as a holding central midfielder in the Carling Cup, which earned him a Premier League debut at Portsmouth on 30th December, when the Wandsworth-born youngster came on as a late substitute in the 4-1 win.

In the Carling Cup this season, Eastmond was an unused substitute in the Third Round match against West Brom, but then made his first-team debut in the Fourth Round victory over Liverpool, being named in the starting line-up and impressing in midfield. Craig was also in the starting line-up for the Fifth Round defeat at Manchester City.

Everyone at the Club is looking forward to Craig's continued contribution and development with Arsenal for a long time to come.
