Coquelin - I can't wait for Liverpool game
By Nick Teale
Francis Coquelin is "really excited" ahead of the Carling Cup tie with Liverpool and hopes manager Arsène Wenger will continue to keep faith with some of Arsenal's younger players.
The Frenchman started his first match for the Gunners in the 2-0 third round victory over West Brom and is confident Arsenal can win again on Wednesday night.
"I'm really excited, I'm waiting for it," said the 18-year-old.
"We've got a chance. It's one game, anything can happen."
"I felt a little bit nervous but I really enjoyed the [West Brom] game and I hope to play against Liverpool.
"I think everyone will give 100 per cent in training and after that it's the choice of the manager.
Coquelin hopes Wenger will continue with his policy of giving youngsters a chance in the Carling Cup but understands that this game may require the presence of some more senior players too.
"I think Wenger will keep the young team; I hope so.
"But I think it's better if we go with a bit more experience in the team as well."
Either way, Coquelin should fit in well.
