Vito Mannone has joined Sunderland after spending eight years at Arsenal.
Mannone, who signed from Atalanta on July 1, 2005, made 23 appearances during his time in north London - but it was as a child growing up in the suburbs of Milan that the goalkeeper's love for football first took hold.
Speaking to Arsenal Player in November 2012, Mannone discussed starting out as a right winger, his desire to become a goalkeeper and the importance of loan spells.
