Arsenal goalkeeper Emma Byrne insists the Gunners need to stop conceding sloppy goals if they are to be successful this season.
Defensive mistakes have been a feature of Arsenal's campaign so far and it cost them once again as Bristol Academy snatched a late equaliser on Thursday but Byrne is hopefull her side can erase the sloppiness - starting at the FA Women's Cup Final.
"It was a poor result for us and so disappointing to concede two sloppy goals," she told Arsenal.com.
"We keep thinking we are going to get them out of the way but they keep creeping up on us.
"Hopefully we can now cut them out of the system before the Cup Final."
Arsenal find themselves four points adrift of league leaders Birmingham City with a game in hand heading into the mid-season break..
But things could have been better for Laura Harvey's side had they taken some of the glorious chances they created against Bristol and on other occasions during the campaign so far.
Despite not converting those chances into goals Byrne believes Arsenal can take huge positives from the way the side is playing.
She said: "It's reassuring that we are creating good goalscoring opportunities and one of these games it will fall for us and we will get a big win.
"But we need to finish them and if we had done that in the first half tonight Bristol would not have come back at us like they did in the second half."
The Gunners now have the FA Cup Final to look forward to where they will take on Bristol in a rematch at the Ricoh Arena.
Byrne admits that Bristol will be boosted ahead of the match by Thursday's 2-2 draw but has warned Mark Sampson's side that they will face different Arsenal side.
She said: "Bristol are a very good side and they will be really up for the Final.
"The result tonight will give them a massive boost. It will be a great occasion and a great game for the spectators but we won't be handing them any goals on a plate next time.
"We just can't afford to do that on the big stage of a Cup Final."Copyright 2015 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 13 May 2011
