Brazil announce squad for Emirates clash
Brazil has named a 22-man squad ahead of the International Friendly match against Republic of Ireland at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 2nd March 2010.
In the Brazilian squad to face Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic of Ireland are a number of recognisable names including Barcelona's Daniel Alves, Inter Milan trio Julio Cesar, Maicon and Lucio, Real Madrid's Kaka, ex-Man City players Robinho and Elano, and Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.
Two ex-Arsenal players have also been named in the Brazil squad to face Republic of Ireland at Emirates Stadium, who will both definitely get a warm reception. These are Julio Baptista, who is now with AS Roma and member of the ‘Invincibles' squad - Gilberto Silva, who now plays for Greek side Panathinaikos.
The match, which will kick off at 8.05pm, will give football fans the chance to see an intriguing encounter between two of the world's most passionate footballing nations going head-to-head.
The contest promises to be an exciting encounter, with a rejuvenated Republic of Ireland side under Giovanni Trapattoni going up against Brazil - the most successful team in World Cup history.
