On the performance…
“Overall I thought we more than deserved the win but we haven’t played as well as we can. It was fits and starts but we did OK. They didn’t have a lot of chances and we should have scored a few more goals to make it a little bit easier. I’m really disappointed that they scored off a corner to be honest with you; it’s the first time in about two years that we’ve conceded one so I’m a bit disappointed in that respect.

“We didn’t perform as well as we can and I think there’s still a lot more to come. But at 3-0 up I thought we should have been out of sight a little bit earlier than that. I thought the first 15-20 minutes we looked a bit nervy but then we started to create a lot more chances. We needed the goal and we got it which settled us down a little bit.”

On Gilles Sunu’s impact from the bench…
“I’m really pleased for the kid because he was the one who missed out because of Jack [Wilshere’s] inclusion. He was really disappointed yesterday and perhaps he had every right to be but it was a fantastic reaction from him. He’s a fabulous kid and we are all really pleased for him.”

On performing on the bigger stage…
“The hard part for us tonight was that we were expected to win. I have to say we haven’t produced many performances at Barnet and it has been one of those places where we haven’t played so well but the pitch is in magnificent condition so that really helped.

“I thought they responded well, other than a spell of 15 minutes when they looked a bit nervy again I thought. Thankfully the pitch is in fabulous condition and we were all rather surprised because we were expecting a boggier pitch. The pitch did help but it’s not always easy, especially with the slope, but I thought we responded magnificently.”

On Rhys Murphy’s injury…
“Well we’re just trying to find out on that. We’ve just made a phone call I think his Dad’s with him at the minute but touch wood, I think he’ll be OK. We’re not really sure but he’s having an X-ray now. It certainly isn’t a straight break that everybody knows is a break but he’s at hospital at the minute and everyone’s keeping their fingers crossed.”

On the next round against Sunderland…
“Again it’s another great game I think. Hopefully Sunderland will play at the Stadium of Light. It’s a tough game, I think they’re top of the league and they have good players and it’s another great game to look forward to.”
