Arsène Wenger is happiest working for an English board of directors who have Arsenal in their blood.

On Friday morning it was reported that foreign investors may be looking to buy into the Club. Within hours a statement was put out denying any approach had been made but the issue was raised at the press conference that afternoon. The current board got wholehearted backing from their manager.

"I find it more reassuring that my owners are English and they are, first of all, fans of Arsenal Football Club," said Wenger.

"I will go one day and the players will go one day but the owners will be the same. They are the people who really transmit the values."
