England youth international forward Benik Afobe has joined League One side Huddersfield Town on a one-month loan deal.

Seventeen year-old Afobe was an instrumental part of Steve Bould’s Premier Academy League-winning side last season, scoring 20 goals in 25 appearances, and netted a hat-trick in the play-off final against Nottingham Forest.

Benik’s pace and keen eye for goal earned him a breakthrough to the Reserves in 2009/10, and he has since cemented his place in Neil Banfield’s side with five appearances already to his name this term.

Afobe, who joined the Arsenal Academy aged just eight, signed professional terms with the Club in February 2010.

In May this year he enjoyed success with England, helping the Three Lions to victory in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Afobe will be on loan with the Terriers until December 4, 2010.

Everyone at Arsenal Football wishes Benik the best of luck during his time with Huddersfield Town.
