If Nicklas Bendtner gets back on the goalscoring trail tonight, he’ll have a very special double landmark to celebrate – and might just have something surprising lined up to mark it.
The Dane is just one shy of a 50th career goal in club football and his fiancée Caroline is expecting his baby in December. They’re two facts that won’t go unnoticed whe he nets his first goal of 2010/11.
“My 50th competitive goal? I’ve got to celebrate that somehow, but I’m also having my baby so maybe I should find a celebration for that!" Bendtner told the Official Matchday Programme.
“I will do something for my first goal, for sure. If I get time, I’ll try to do something that hasn’t been done before - although the celebrations now are so crazy that it’ll be difficult. There’s always the good one where you take the ball under your shirt, or where you rock back and forwards. But it might be something special, you never know.”
In tonight's programme Nicklas speaks about impending fatherhood, scaling new heights on the pitch and a disappointing World Cup for himself and Denmark. The Shakhtar programme will also feature exclusives from Arsène Wenger, Cesc Fabregas and Andrey Arshavin plus all the other news and views you’d expect from our award-winning publication.
