Arsenal Football Club can confirm Kyle Bartley has joined Swansea City in a permanent deal, subject to a regulatory process.
The 21-year-old centre back concludes a five-year spell with the Gunners, during which the former reserves captain and FA Youth Cup winner made one competitive appearance for Arsène Wenger’s side - against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League in December 2009.
Bartley has since taken in loan spells with Sheffield United and more recently Rangers, accumulating a total of 59 games at senior level across the Championship and the Scottish Premier League.
Having impressed on loan at Ibrox last season, the Stockport-born youngster was involved in Arsenal’s pre-season preparations this summer, playing in the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup against Southampton and in all three fixtures of the Arsenal Tour 2012.
Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Kyle for his contribution to the Club and wish him well at the Liberty Stadium.Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
