Mikel Arteta says Arsenal must not rest on their laurels and ensure they get the job done in the Champions League.
The Gunners sit in the driving seat in Group F after Wednesday night’s victory in Marseille after Aaron Ramsey’s last-gasp strike sealed all three points for Arsène Wenger’s side.
The victory makes it seven points from three group matches so far but Arteta says inconsistent results elsewhere - such as Olympiacos’ 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund – were a stark reminder that Group F is anything but predictable.
“There are some strange results,” the midfielder said. “When we played Olympiacos two weeks ago they made it really hard for us and played well.
“There are no easy teams in the Champions League. It looks tight but we have done the job tonight and we are happy with it.
“Every game is important for us at the moment, whether it be the Champions League or the Premier League,” Arteta added. “Ten or 11 points will usually get you through, but it's too early to say.
“If we win the next game then we know it is going to be much easier.”Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 20 Oct 2011
