Mikel Arteta believes maintaining the team’s consistent home form is the key to a successful season.

Arsenal have won all but one of their matches at Emirates Stadium this season in all competitions, but are still seeking their first away Premier League victory of the campaign.

Sunday’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Sunderland is another timely confidence boost according to Arteta, who says the target now is to string together some more positive scorelines.

“If you are very consistent you get the results,” he told Arsenal Player. “We know that away from home we have the ability to nick points all the way through the league so it's up to us.

“We just have to keep doing what we are doing at home, winning every game and I am sure that is going to see us climb up the table quickly.

“It's a massive win and three points,” he added. “I think it got a bit complicated after the first 20 minutes when we could have been two or three-nil up.”
