Andrey Arshavin... Player of the Month again

Arshavin is 02/Arsenal Player of the Month

Andrey Arshavin has won his second consecutive O2/Arsenal.com Player of the Month award.

The Russian playmaker has made a flying start to his Arsenal career. He scooped more than half the votes in our March poll and did even better in April, receiving a staggering 70.4 per cent.

Andrey was impressive all month but his outstanding contribution came at Anfield. The 27-year-old scored four times in that incredible 4-4 draw. He also struck in a 4-1 win at Wigan and continued to rack up the assists for his team-mates, setting up goals against Wigan, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth.

Cesc Fabregas was a distant second in our official poll with 9.3 per cent of the votes cast. Manuel Almunia, who excelled in the Champions League at Old Trafford, was third.

Manuel Almunia 6.8%

Scott Gammon from Rotherham has won the chance to present Andrey with his award before an Arsenal home game this month. Scott will also receive two tickets to the match.

"He has given a fresh look to the Arsenal," said Scott. "With great vision, he can read the game like no other. His finishing and general contribution to the team has been unbeliveable seeing that he is only just match fit. I belive he is already a fans' favourite and is a legend in the making. Well done Wenger."
