Ladies duo visit Arsenal in Community session

Arsenal Ladies and England stars Ellen White and Steph Houghton headed to Elthorne Park on Wednesday afternoon to get stuck into the "How Are You Feeling Today?" programme.

The Arsenal in the Community project uses sport to help bolster a sense of social inclusion among adults affected by mental health issues and works to challenge the stigma associated with the condition. And the Club run two two-hour sessions every week in partnership with the Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust, Time to Change, the Premier League and Sport Relief.

With the scheme seeking to attract more and more female participants, Ellen and Steph paid a visit to help raise awareness and to try out the session for themselves. The Olympic hopefuls slotted into small sided games and chatted with those involved.

Ellen was clearly impressed with what they had seen. "It's a real privilege for us to get out and see some of the great work the Club is doing in the community first hand," she said. "That people who are having a tough time can come to Elthorne Park a couple of times a week to get some support and a chance to lose themselves in sport is brilliant. And the "How Are You Feeling Today?" programme seems to be really making a difference to those involved."
