Marketing Director Angus Kinnear
Arsenal invests in its commercial operation
Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Angus Kinnear as marketing director, signalling the start of major restructuring and investment into the Club's commercial operation. Under the guidance of chief commercial officer Tom Fox, five new senior positions have been identified in order to broaden the Club's reputation and maximise revenue streams on a global scale.
Kinnear, who has been promoted from his previous role as head of marketing, has been with the Gunners for five years. During his time he has been responsible for the Club's domestic and international marketing activities, including the highly successful move to Emirates Stadium. Before joining Arsenal, Kinnear worked at Proctor & Gamble in the brand management operation, and also headed up sports and youth marketing at Coca-Cola Great Britain.
As well as recruiting a new marketing director, the Club is in the process of hiring four other senior executives, enabling its commercial operation to amplify its current activities and ignite new partnerships and initiatives. These positions are: retail director; business development analyst; head of global partnership development and head of marketing.

Arsenal’s chief commercial officer, Tom Fox, joined the Club in August 2009. With over 20 years of experience with some of the world’s most recognised global brands, including Gatorade, the NBA and Nike, Inc, Fox is excited at the prospect of these latest developments.
He said: “We are truly fortunate to be in a position to make this kind of investment in our people. We are confident that the combination of elevating Angus Kinnear into the new role of marketing director, together with several key new appointments, will enhance our ability as a Club to grow our commercial revenue both domestically and abroad.”

Ivan Gazidis said: ”This major restructuring of our commercial talent will enable us to make great strides in our worldwide commercial operation. This substantial investment, made possible even in such challenging economic times by our strong self-sustaining business model, will help us to drive our business forward and expand our global reach. We look forward to welcoming the new additions to our commercial team, who under the guidance of Tom Fox, will be a huge asset to our overall operation."
In addition to these senior appointments, Fox and his team will also be recruiting a number of support roles which will further bolster Arsenal’s overall commercial operation. These support roles will strengthen Arsenal's hospitality and premium sales team for the extensive facilities available at Emirates Stadium, and also improve its membership activities, in order to further grow the 190,000 supporters officially registered with Arsenal Football Club.
These new enhancements are another step in Arsenal’s recent overall investment in talent, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Ivan Gazidis. Since joining Arsenal in January 2009, Gazidis has overseen the appointment of three new senior executive positions with the arrival of a new chief commercial officer (Tom Fox), general counsel (Svenja Geissmar) and head of people and operations (Trevor Saving).
