Arsenal Football Club is launching a Young Guns enclosure next season in which thousands of reduced price tickets will be available for members of its Junior Gunners* scheme.
Located next to the existing Family Enclosure at the Gunners’ north London home, the area will provide the Club’s Young Guns - supporters aged 12 to 16 - with access to 1,000 tickets to every weekend category B and C Premier League match for a fixed price of £10.
The Young Guns Enclosure will primarily appeal to teenagers in the Islington area and parents who already come to games who will now be able to bring their children.
The Club has also announced it is moving Junior Gunners’ prices for Category B Premier League games to the same level as Category C for next season.
Last season match tickets were re-graded at Emirates Stadium to create approximately 90,000 lower-priced matchday tickets, with prices for Premier League matches starting from £25.50. In January this year, the Club also announced an across-the-board freeze on ticket prices for the 2013/14 season - the sixth in eight years.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: “This is an important initiative to encourage young fans to come to games and make a big contribution to the atmosphere at Emirates Stadium. Our young fans represent the future of the Club.
“We have a thriving youth membership scheme with over 30,000 enrolled. Those fans want to be part of the Club and this initiative, which we have developed in partnership with supporters’ groups, means there will be 14,000 additional tickets for Young Guns to attend Premier League matches across the season for no more than £10 a game. This is in addition to the £5 and £10 tickets we offer young supporters for Capital One Cup home games.”
Arsenal worked with the Arsenal Independent Supporters’ Association and the Arsenal Supporters Trust to develop the Young Guns Enclosure. In a joint statement the fan groups said: “We welcome this innovative approach by Arsenal and are pleased that they have worked closely with us on the initiative. We all want to encourage the next generation of Arsenal supporters and we believe this will help considerably in continuing to attract young fans to our matches.”
Junior Gunner members also have access to approximately 4,000 tickets per home match within the Family Enclosure, in which Team JGs and Young Guns can purchase tickets priced at £10 in the lower tier and £13.50 in the upper tier.
Tickets will be available to purchase through www.arsenal.com or by calling 020 7619 5000 two months in advance of a fixture. One ticket per membership can be purchased for a given match. Team JG, Cannon Club, Senior, Red or Silver level members cannot accompany Young Guns within the Young Guns Enclosure. If members wish to sit with family or friends of a different membership level, tickets can be purchased together, subject to availability, in the Family Enclosure or General Admission areas.
Further information around ticket initiatives, the Club’s membership scheme and opportunities to renew for the 2013/14 season will be released soon. Stay close to www.arsenal.com for further information.
