Diaby struck twice as Arsenal maintained their 100 per cent start. The Frenchman sidefooted in after 18 minutes and swept home another soon afterwards. Pompey hit back through Kaboul but Gallas and Ramsey completed a satisfying afternoon.
ARSENAL 1-0 WEST BROM, 2008
Nasri took just three minutes 44 seconds to introduce himself to the Emirates Stadium faithful with a well-crafted goal to see off West Brom. The new signing rounded off a flowing move from close range to secure the points.
ARSENAL 2-1 FULHAM, 2007
Healy gave Fulham a shock lead inside the first minute but Arsenal hit back with two late goals. Van Persie slammed home a penalty before Fabregas picked out Hleb for a composed finish with 15 seconds of normal time left.
ARSENAL 1-1 ASTON VILLA, 2006
Villa looked like party poopers when Mellberg's header gave them the lead in the first Premier League game at Emirates Stadium but Walcott's cross landed at the feet of Gilberto and he rifled home an equaliser with a few minutes left.
