Wednesday night's Champions League Quarter-Final first leg tie between Arsenal and Liverpool will be the 200th time the sides have clashed competitively. It will also be the first in Europe.

So far, it is the Merseyside's who have the bragging rights having won 80 of the previous 199 games. Arsenal have won 10 less. However when it comes to cup competitions the Gunners take the plaudits. Arsène Wenger's side knocked Liverpool out of both domestic cup tournaments last season and have claimed a total of 11 wins to Liverpool's 10 over the years. In fact, the last time Arsenal lost at home in a cup competition to the team from Anfield was in 1964.

Below is a full break down of the long history between two of England's greatest football clubs.
