Emmanuel Eboue believes Arsenal are on the right path to a "special" season.

The Ivorian came off the bench after just 18 minutes on Tuesday night to replace the injured Bacary Sagna and put in a solid shift as Arsenal saw off Ipswich to reach the Carling Cup Final.

Eboue has played at Wembley before - he was part of the side that lost to Chelsea in the 2009 FA Cup Semi-Final - and he is hoping for a more enjoyable experience in February.

“For me the League Cup is very, very special for this team, it is a great opportunity for us to win something," Eboue told the Official Matchday Programme.

“I have played at Wembley for Arsenal and it’s special and the players who haven’t played there will want to experience that too.

"This is a team that can win something, for sure. If we continue to play our football and with the confidence the side has, I certainly believe that and I’ll be ready to give everything I can to help try and make this season something special.”
